Soon I m thinkin about going internal on my 01 ls. I have i/e/ and my header and cat will be here soon. After that I want to go internal. I want to start off with cams and cam gears. Are the cams and cam gears more a vtec thing or do you guys think it will make a significant gain. Or if you anyone has any other suggestions on what to do next, help me out. Thanks

if you went from the LS cams to some really high performance ones, i'd think you'd notice it once you dyno it to get the cam gears right

 

cams and cam gears do produce horsepower when tuned. upgrading a b18b head helps.. but it wont give you the hp increase you need... especially after all the money youll be spending to upgrade the valvetrain. go turbo... or slap on a vtec head. youll get more gains out of it.
