i shot my engine and I am putting a new one in soon.
It's a daily driver little EF ('91 DX)
I will either put the same 1.5L engine in there or a D16z6 that I found for 200 more than the 1.5L (can't remember block #)
what are your opinions?
is there enough more power in the Z6 to justify $200 for a daily driver (it's about all the money I have
)
will VTEC be worth it
hrmmm can somebody post specs, I am trying to find some

but money is scarce and it is a daily driver.....
what do you think??
yay/nay?
if you do the z6 swap you've still gotta do a full obd1 conversion...from what i hear, its not free...so you'll need a tad more than 200 bucks

yes I am aware of that, the final cost will be $200 more than the 1.5L DX replacement

well, it looks like I am just going to tell them to put the z6 in there, hopefully it will be a little bit faster than the DX engine
the z6 is a good ******* motor. i have the jspec version (zc vtec) and its great. pulls hard. i have it in with my obd0 wiring/intake manny, and just have vtec on a switch. quite fun in a little hatch
good luck

i say Z6 all the way
I say go for it. I myself am gettin ready to relieve my 2nd D16a6 motor with a Z6 or Y8. I was looking into getting a ZC but the aftermarket for them is POO. And as far as I know you don't have to do a full 0BD1 conversion. You just have to have a Si dist. and intake mani. and your straight. Someone correct me if im wrong so I can know.
