Nice 1/4 mile times, what was the setup? "Looks like a Greddy turbo" what boost? How long did the car run before it went boom?

 

NO WAY! what the hell happened?!...whats the news? give me a holla and tell me whats up.

 

The car has been running since May-- 7-8psi, perfectly tuned. Snapped a rod last week, its been a merry x-mas for him

 

dayuuum. Good excuse for a buildup, at least.

 

why would you say it was a perfect setup if it blew??

 

if he needs to sell the intercooler to finance the fixing, let me know, ill try to help out

What a mess! But I always see the SOHC motors throwing rods a lot, What's up with that. And thats a huge intercooler

Thanks for all your comments guys. This xmas was great execpt for the rod inncident, but the fact that my friends were so willing to help out and give me their support to get this thing back on the road this winter made things a lot better. Luckly I planned on something like this happening back when I installed all the goodies, so Ive had a spare d16z6 sitting around waiting for this occasion. Before I drop it in, Im gonna build it up so this doest happen again. I kinda expected this though...I mean, its a weak engine and it was abused heavily this summer (weekly runs at the track, auto-xing, ect...). Oh well, I guess on the bright side I will be able to look back on this and laugh one day. Cheers!

how many miles were on the motor when it blew? and did he have any internals done?.
