How much slack should i leave on the throtle cable
Popped my hood the other day to check all fluids. Noticed that my throtle cable is loose. How much slack should be left in the cabel?
Another problem that i have noticed, when im deaccelerating to a stop and hit my brakes my rmps jump to 1400 rpm. If i pump the brake when the car is nuetral, the rpms jump to 2000 rpms. I don't know if all integras do this or not, but it seems kind of weird. Note: The car idles at 700 rpms.

your dont want slack in the accel cable, that = less throttle response.
as far as the brake thing ? sounds odd, mine like if i push the brake in real tight it will go up a little in rpms, but not that much .

I try and make mine as tight as possible without rasiting the idle of the car.
I think you should be safe with about 5mm of deflection in the cable.

I am no way a mechanic and I have very little knowledge, however a guess for your break problem may be a sign of the alternator having issues. Do you notice any change when you roll your windows up or down while the car is idle? Like I said this is a guess and hopefully someone here may be able to help a little more.

Whatever you do, don't let it come off the bracket completely... mine did after we did my swap, and I had to cruise like 1/8th of a mile into a 7-11. I knew exactly what it was, the car just went to idle and the gas pedal went to the floor.
