Default 88-91 Civic Auto Tranny ?

Hey guys and gals,
After doing dozens and dozens of manual vehicle I have now had the experience of working on a auto tranny in a 89 civic 4dr lx. I have a service manual and have found little to no info on properly installing the tranny on the engine. The senerio was the the old motor threw a rod in the #1 cylinder causing a baseball size hole in motor. So I happen to have a D15b2 motor from a 89 Dx sitting around gathering dust. So we pulled the motor and got the new motor ready and attempted to install the tranny again back on the new motor. Well after many attemps to get the tranny on ended up using alittle too much force and cracked the case on the new tranny. No after that we still continued to try to get the tranny on since we still had to know how it needs to be installed besides the point that we now need a new tranny. Any tips or info on how to install a auto tranny would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Auto Tranny Retard
(Andy)

ill post some pics but you have to but on the two plates and the tq converter then put the tranny on. I had a spare motor when i did my auto to manual and put my auto tranny on and it went on no problem. I also have a auto tranny and tq converter for sale if you need it or want it. Ill let it go cheap.

its just lining up the splines....im a little fuzzy on details..but i believe the tranny has 2 sets of splines that need to line up....basically though i would practice on a spare engine/tranny u have off of the car..... and install the tranny and engine as one
