its weird, there is metal noise (sort of like grinding) coming from bottom after flooring the car. Same time as when Bov goes off. Anyone know what it can be. This happens only when car is driving and not when standing still and reved. Car is 99 Prelude with Greddy kit and type S bov. Anyone can help?

 

sounds like compressor surge.... try to loosen the bolt on the bov a bit.

hmmmm *scratch* is that metal grinding sound close to a metal 'flutter'?

that or your cat is in bad shape and rattling around.

thanks for your help, but wouldn't that metal sound also be present when car is not moving and gas is hit? Thats if bov is problem... I don't think its bov

 

well wot under load is gonna spin your snail ALOT faster than revving at a standstill. If your bov is a bit tight it's not going to release that air soon enough to prevent surge.

I hope your problem is as simple as that. If not, any metallic scraping sound would freak me out.

Just give it a try! Do counter 2-3 turns and see what happens. Won't hurt to try!
