I just got my maxrev manifold in today, and the forth runner is WARPED and the lower bolt on the third runner is about 5mm too high. I'm VERY pissed off about this, this is the second time I've been sent a faulty manifold (first time for MaxRev though), I can't run my car until this is fixed, and it was shipped almost a week late. MaxRev is closed until friday, so there's nothing I can do until then...

Sorry for venting, I'm just tired of dealing with all these problems I've had with the Turbo install that haven't been my fault

*edit - Upon taking a good hard look at it, it's not really the 4th runner that's warped, the whole damn thing is like an arch . See pics below

*Update: Crutis from MaxRev called me, and apparently they went in to the shop, fabricated a new manifold, and sent it out 2 day shipping no questions asked. These guys own! To Crutis and MaxRev

Yeah, I was talking to them last week and they said they've been really pushed to get all the turbo kits that were ordered (over 30!) in the past three weeks out. I looked at it some more, comparing it to my stocker, and its really obvious that it was machined wrong. Oh well, I just hope that Maxrev will get in to contact with me some time soon. I'll get pictures up later

 

better then waiting four months, then getting an unfinished manifold, that doesn't even fit in the end.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of bad things about the Dropshop lately. I still like MaxRev so far, and I trust that they'll do what they can to make things right, I just hope that it happens SOON because I'm tired of borrowing my parent's old Cougar while my car is without the parts it needs

im glad i didnt end up going with this kit...something about a company cranking out a large number of kits in a short amount of time is just a recipe for disaster

 

Yeah, tell me about it, unfortunatly I found out the hard way. I still like Max-Rev though, I've talked to 'em several times over the phone, and they've been nothing but helpful and friendly. I'm just praying that they'll check their answering machine and work this out, because I WANT MY CAR TO RUN!!!

But for MaxRev for fixing their faults WITH THE QUICKNESS! That can't be said for other aftermarket companies... *ahem*

A little bit is all it takes to cause vibration and leak some gases. Then you have to worry about it cracking or stripping the bolt out of the head.

 

Well, it's warped to the point that it won't even come close to getting on to the head

 

Well, UPS was supposed to bring me my replacement Manifold and Oil Return today, but they DIDN'T, so I gave Curtis at MaxRev a call to see what's up. He gave me the tracking number and apparently it's sitting in KY , and is supposed to get here on monday - so I'll have to wait until then to make any more progress on the car. This is getting pretty damn frustrating, considering that I finished buying all my parts in November, and because of all the issues I've had with people sending me the right stuff on time, I've had a half way turbo charged, bumper less, Intercooler having, gauge having, Fuel setup having, oil pan less, Turboless car sitting in my garage for the past week and a half... bah!

On the good side though, Curtis and I had a long talk over the phone, and I'm very excited to see some of the stuff that MaxRev is developing right now. They're coming out with an improved log style Manifold, as well as a new equal length unit . Apparently someone is pushing over 500 some HP on the Log style manifold that's currently on production, running boost in the upper teens and using a full Hondata system. They've sold upwards of 200 turbo kits in the past three weeks too... Neat stuff, just thought some of you guys might be interested.
