Default Wiring help

I'm looking for a wire to tap into for a power point. I can't find a wiring diagram so I need some suggestions.

Umm...12v w/ the ignition on . I'm wiring up a cigarette lighter, but w/o the actual lighter. Just want a place to plug in my cell phone.

oh...if your just doing a simple hard wire like that and you dont want to cut into anything just plug the 12 volt wire into the fusebox and put ground to ground.

just find a fuse that has power with just the ignition on - or power all the time if you want to leave your phone to charge with the car on or off. (cant think of what they are labeled without looking)

take the fuse out and check for power on both sides of the fuse holder...plug your wire into the side that doesnt have power...that way if something happens to it the fuse will blow.
when fuse unplugged

--12v ^------^ no power

-------- __-- __
12v in [--]__[-] power out
--------[--------]
--------[______]
plug into the power out half
(pictures are a pain in the *** to make)
actually just fold the wire over the edge of the fuse and shove it back into place

note: the wire has to be somewhat thin for this to work...and i just suggest this if you have a virgin harness and dont want to start hacking into it.

Thanks, but my harness has already been hacked into. I'm just looking for a safe wire to tap into w/o messing something serious up. I might just try that suggestion though.
