Friday night me and a buddy were heading home from looking at some new Z4's. And (for those that know columbus) was heading down 270 South from like hillard towards broad st. I got onto the 70 East ramp and was going along that biig curve (going probably 45-50) and hit a patch of black ice on the last over pass. The back end steped out and I tried turning into the spin, but the car slide nose first down into the gaurd rail. I spun around twice, was able to straiten out the car and started heading towards the end of the road off a small enbankment, not fighting it I let the car go down the hill across the 270 N -> 70 E ramp and parked on the side of the road. My buddy was with me, we both had our seat belts on and were perfectly fine.

Damn that sucks, but with all the type r front ends on here, it should be easy to find a new one.

Hehe, well I'll will have an answer tomorrow when I talk to the insurance people. I'm sure the money will be covered but I wanna make sure there is no more damage than appears, my left front looks a bit off. kinda hard to see in the pics, need a head on of it. I'll get more (my mom took those shots)

 

Actually it was pretty intense, much better than a roller coaster for sure.

No I don't think so, the body shop is going to look at it tomorrow. The sub frame in the front looks a little pushed in, dragging the radiator fan gaurd agianst the exaust mani, but it's not appling any kind of real pressure, nothing I don't think that can all be pushed back up. The A/C belt rubs agiasnt the headlight housings when I turn the motor over.. one thing that kept me from driving home to avoid any tickets, which I got anyway =P failure to control but the officer said I can fight it if I want to which I may cuase I don't want any points on my license.

 

personally i would find someone that just got a jdm front and attempt to buy thier 98+ front, it will probably be more economical, and depending on how i feel that day i like the usdm front better.

Ouch, no one likes a crash. Your car looks like its got a body kit, so you wrecked the front bumper. it is a body kit right? any way hope you fix it. get a JDM front.

After the insurance company looks at my car, I might be in contact with you (actually anyone for that mater.. steve ) about that front (Radiator support, fenders EVERYTHING), im still undecided about JDM.
