Ok this is the deal, i recently "T" Boned a girl who pulled out in front of me so her Ins. is paying for a the damage, which includes going from a 96 front end to a 99, the hood, both fenders, bumper, and both headlights are all in need of replacement now. The question i have is would a CF hood look like a ricer, or should i paint the CF hood to match the car. The color of the car is the rare Seafoam Green, with bronze slipsteams, with 2" sprint springs with KYB adjustables. Your opinion would help.

IMO, CF hoods should always be painted if the car still needs to retain aesthetics.. but if its a track only car that doesnt need to look good, go ahead and leave it unpainted.. but just think of it yourself..your whole car is green right? why have a black hood?

Carbon Fiber Hoods are just another trendy useless mod. They're ugly, and most of the time don't fit. If it's a street car, keep the factory hood. If it's a track car, put the carbon fiber on and don't worry about painting it.

LOL, i thought "T BONED" was a new position when i first read it....LMAO
Anyways, i think you should leave the hood as it is... i didnt paint mines (silver car) and i think it looks great

half these guys with carbon fiber hoods for weight reduction also have blingin' subs and body kits
Even on a track car I wouldn't bother with a carbon hood. $500 can buy alot of things that would be more important than a 11 lb weight reduction.
what about the saftey of a carbon fiber hood on a track? Are they legal under most rules? I have heard stories of them shattering in an impact, and of the carbon skin seperating from the supports.

OK, well i got the money from the INS today, no need for buying a CF hood now INS is paying for the 99 front end conversion.
Thanks you'll opinion though.
