Where To Get: Hydraulic to Cable Conversion for 1991 Civic?
Can anybody give insight, or is it a crazy task to try and put a hydro tranny in a 4G civic? I had heard that many "kits" are not worth anything and best left alone. Any solutions to this??
well, they are supposed to have one, but they only have one for the other direction (cable to hydraulic) and have heard there was a placeracing one, but that was immediately dogged elsewhere...
I have heard many rumors of Place Racing making a cable to hydro kit but I have never seen it. I have seen some hydro B series swaps in EF/CRX chassis though. From what I've seen, people have used the parts from 92+ Civic's/Integra's and then HCP or Place Racing mounts with a welded custom adapter plate on the tranny side mount.
Hasport are working on what you desire. I have spoken to them on numerous occasions for updates on the release. The 1st time I spoke to them was in August and they said maybe a month or so for release. Then again at the begining of October, and it was due out for SEMA. Once more after SEMA, and I got the pessimist (I think Joe Locash), and he said not in the foreseable future, low priority. I checked again just before Christmas, and believe I spoke to the individual that is actually working on the kit. He said he was test fitting the new tranny mount as we spoke, and that they had not decided on the mechanism for actuating the clutch just yet, but that he felt it would likely be ready for the end of January. I'm still holding my breath, because I'm not in a huge rush to do my swap.
If I had access to the welding equipment (I used to) and the time to do the job, I would just do it myself, but with a full time job, a family, and a side business, there are just not enough seconds in a minute.

Place racing makes one. I have never tried it or have seen it working on a working car. I have seen the actual hardware too at there shop. Sorry I can not tell you if it works good though. I do have there cable to hydro automatic chassis mount and that works good.
think i like other people to experiment on this one first and see what their experience is...i would put it on a road car and NOT a race car..

I have been hearing about the conversion kits since before I started my swap and it been a year since I finished it, still I have not seen any 'kit' to purchase, I have seen shops and other people do the same thing I did, but not yet have I seen the real deal for sale.
My rough guide about the swap:

your other option is to get a cable sir tranny with an lsd. Not a bad move.....they are not very common though and those that have them usually do not give them up. I am looking to do the same thing that you are... Best of luck
Someone on this board did a conversion using junkyard parts but I'm not shure who. search perhaps? I saw it just recently.

yea, i think he tore up the foot pedals and then did some welding - don't know about "OEM" quality with that hookup. if i have a b18c JDM i want to do some serious r's and don't want questionable shifts..
