Its a dynapack so its attached to the front hubs, wheels removed. Probably didn't change the graph title.

and that will explain why he makes great power, no tires to spin.

Fair observation, but by removing the wheels/tyres you have one less variable. I read the thread and he has used the same dynapack to measure changes from start to finish. I don't think he his trying to get the highest numbers around. Just wants an accurate measure for each mod.

He baselined about 175HP on the dynapack and has measured each mod along the way, ending with 225HP. Its the accurate measurement of the 50HP that matters, not whether the final amount is 150HP or 250HP. Seems you can get about 50whp out of the RSX with bolt-on's/ECU.

Very well put mpd076. Even an innaccurate dyno is a good tool to determine if the mods you performed did their job. However, the dyno must be precise.

Accuracy and precision (repeatability) are two different things.

that's just an assine statement.....you must make mad hps for your tires to spin on a dyno....the dynapak does not make more hps than a dynojet....typically 17% less....but i'm assuming that the flywheel hp has been corrected and not really 226 to the wheels!

have you gone mad? do you even know what a dynapack is? they typically measure about 10hp higher than dynojet pulls. feel free to call shawn church auto test in torrance, ca for a reference.

No, I don't think he's gone mad?! As a matter of fact, he's on the right track. I've had firsthand experience with Clayton, Mustang, DynoJet, DynaPack and Bench (engine) dyno's. As a whole in the import world, people go by the DynoJet's numbers. The DynaPack usually will measure SAE corrected horsepower and shop's that I've been to that have the DynaPack (such as DC Sports in Corona, Motorsport Dynamics in Sac) tested that the DynaPack does dyno about 8% LESS than the DynoJet. Also the DynaPack tends to be more accurate since it doesn't have to deal with the variable of tires and wheels (slippage on the wheel drum of a Dynojet)

So before you go questioning people whether if they're "mad", crazy, or whatever, and before you go answering people's post on hearsay, make sure you've actually worked with the equipment...that'll probably be more help to people!
