Default test drove GSR today

I test drove a GSR that my sister is sister is looking into buying.

95 with 72k on it. Its got AEM CAI, Apexi N1 with silencer, kg/mm(????) spring with koni yellows, type r sway bar with bsq kit.
I was sort of worried that it might have been trashed since it is slight modded. But it drove fine to me. My 97 GSR seems stronger in VTEC. But I had 4 people in the car while test driving it.

Few things I noticed: Clutch felt a lot softer then my 97's clutch. I have 66k on mine. All the gears went in fine, no 3rd snycro problems like my 97 has. I'm just wondering if the soft pedal feel of the clutch means it might need replaced soon? I felt around the cluth pedal no fluid, no master cylinder seems fine.

One thing I heard someone saying is test the clutch, by putting it in 5th going like 2-35pmh and floor it, if the rpms rise the clutch is slipping??? Anyway I did this and everything seemed fine.

Anyway this GSR does at around 4k rpm, there is a rattling sound. I assume this is the heat shields rattleing?

I'll probably have a shop take a look at it to make sure the compression is fine and everything, as I do not have a tester.

Anything major that I am forgetting to check out on the car?

Thanks. Sorry for long post.

I forgot to mention that. I did run a car fax. Everything came out clean. 2 owners, this guy bought it from a dealer.

I asked him about accidents also. He had he got rear-ended, and had to replace the bumper. Car looked totally clean though. No accident showed up on carfax, so their must have no been a insurnace report filed.

feel the paint if it feels bumpy then theres overspray on it, that means it had to had some touch up paint done some where,so there could have been possible accidents. that wer not reported.

I thought this thread was going to be on a first time experience in a GS-R.

Also check for overspray on the undercarriage and in the wheel wells.

the rattling isnt the heat sheild. Its the header where the pipes come together, the pipes that are close resonate just right between 3500-4000 rpm. This is completely normal, happens to many gsr's. Too bad the owner didnt get it fixed while under warranty
