What does the insurance compnay do with stripped ITR's?
This may be a sore subject for some.
For those who do not buy back their stollen/stripped ITR's, what does the insurance company usually do with them? I suppose public auction yards would be a prime place to look, but maybe those of you who have gone through the unfortunate situation of having your ITR stollen and stripped would have a better answer. I know they exist because I have seen some rolling chassis ITR's for sale.
I am curious because I am looking into a new project car, and I always need something to work on, so this rainy winter here in Seattle I figured I could give an ITR a new life.
If anybody has any knowledge regarding finding a rolling chassis ITR, I have open ears.
Thanks.
EDIT: Me fail engrish (fixed grammar).

I was the not so proud owner of a 97 ITR for only two days. My financial institution approved me for a car loan of $11,500 so that I could buy this ITR. However, I neglected to tell the loan officer that the car has a salvage title, which is something my financial institution WILL NOT finance. The dealer called me and told me of the problem, so I reluctantly gave it back.
The car was salvaged because it was stolen and stripped of almost everything. The car had a 2000 ITR drivetrain from a rear-ended/wrecked 2000 ITR. The wheels are from a 2000 ITR. The interior is from a 2000 Integra GS-R. The car itself didn't have "integrity" or "togetherness" that a mechanically sound car (ie a brand new car or a well taken care of used car) has. There were lots of creaking when the car was put in gear or taking right hand turns. I planned on rebuilding the ITR, but oh well...here are some pics...My guess is that the car was auctioned off and someone rebuilt it with the 2000 Integra parts and resold the car whole, and it ended up with the dealer. Here's the CarFax report, followed by pics I took...

Mine was a touch shy of being totaled, but it was deemed fixable; so it was rebuilt.
Had it not, the insurrance company would have auctioned it off, if I had not been able to buy it back.

VTEC - Sorry to hear about that...so close.
I have contacted a couple insurance yards and they do not disclose what vehicles they have that aren't ready to be auctioned yet (
), so I will have no idea until they are either publicly being auctioned, or I find a yard that isn't ghey.
Who is this person selling the PY ITR chassis?
