Crank Shaft Position Sensor (Code 4)
My Friend has a 5th Gen Prelude and some of his friends attempted to advance his timing. I know on a 5th gen you can't adjust the timing but what they did was take out the bottom bolt and then rotate the distributor and then just left out the bottom bolt. I told them he couldn't adjust the timing like this and then put a timing light on it and proved it to him. He drove around for about 15 miles like this before I told him to come over so I could fix what they did. I put the distributor back into it's stock holes and when he cranked back up the car he now has a check engine code for Code 4....and when I checked on h22a.org for the code it says it's the Idle control system Malfunction. Does anyone know why this would be, or have had experience with this in the past. thank you in advance for any help you can give us.

Which is it? Crank Shaft Sensor or Idle control system? You have the title say crank shaft and your thread is talking about Idle...
