Default did a search... still have questions on type s pistons in a h23

I have been playing around with the idea of Type S pistons in my h23. How much will the 3.8cc differance in the head volume change my CR? Will the diff in head volume cause my valves to hit the piston? Are the rings of the Type S the same as the usdm h22? How bout the pins and retainers? Anything else I should know besides the conrod mods?

Thanks

I believe Satan_SRV calculated that Type-S pistons on an H23 crank would produce a CR of about 12.3:1

Will I need better fuel managment than a fpr for 12.3 compression? How about valve clearance?

You will need some pretty good tuning to run 12.3:1 on 91 octane.

Can you say melted pistons? That's what will happen...

Great thread over on PO.com about that...

So the only way to raise compression with pistons is to sleeve? Man, that sux!
