I have a '91 DX (EF hatch)
I recently shot my engine (piston rod) and need to replace it with a new one, however, so far I am only considering buying the block/head and leaving the remaining parts in for the new engine.
I was considering purchasing an 88-91 Si engine. Would that be interchangeable with the DX headers/intake/transmission ect..?
The POS is a daily driver and I don't want to put a whole lot of money in it, so don't give me these "H22!!!!" replies
if you can think of another engine that would fit in the DX bay with out any modifications, or any other suggestions please post them.
I have about 2 weeks or so to get it done thanks

I'd put a regular b18 in there. By regular I mean "not b18c" or any other expensive one. Just an ls motor. It will be much cheaper. Then if you get the itch later on you can slap a ITR head on it and... voila! You've got an ls/vtec!
