What's wrong with my tranny?
Since about a week ago, I have not been able to shift cleanly. At first I thought it was my clutch even though my car only has 16,xxx miles on it, although 16,xxx miles includes trips to the drag strip and several street encounters. The clutch is catching higher than before but when I depress the clutch pedal, the engine revs drop with no hesitation and I have stalled the car, trying to go too easy on the clutch. The symptoms sound more like bad syncros b/c higher the revs go, the worse the shifting gets and I have to wait for the revs to come down before I can shift into another gear. The car doesnt shift that bad when it is cold. However, I dont think it's my syncros because it's not just one gear that is doing this, but gears 1-4 with 5 also having some problems but being better than the others and they all started at the same time. Also, if I feather the clutch too much once, I cant shift into gears cleanly for at least the next 10 minutes and that doesnt sound like a syncro problem. I was thinking about doing a Fidanza flywheel and exedy clutch upgrade, but now I'm thinking it might not even be my clutch. Anyone ever experience the same problems?
Yea, but mine has about 100k on it, but I have the same prob in 4th gear, I hit Vtec in 3rd and shift to 4th I have to baby it in gear if I'm pushing over 5k rpms. I think mine is the syncro's and the clutch from drag racing. But if your R is still under warrany, Take it back to the dealership.
Sounds, like your synchros. Your car is still a baby, bring her to the dealer ASAP and have them fix it under warranty. Make sure your car is completely stock before you go, so they don't hassle you. Good luck..
