Default Kayla's new seats

Well, my baby Kayla's new seats came in today. They are R1 Racing Sports RSR's in black/carbon silver. This color is not yet released to the public, so here is your chance to see them first. Carbon silver is a chameleon color that looks black, silver, or gray depending on lighting. We started installing them today but were unable to finish because of having to do some customizing to make them fit.

here it is on the couch at the shop:

You're entitlled to your opinion, but these pictures do not do these seats justice. I can't even begin to tell you how much better than my stock seat this feels. I have not been able to test them completely yet (i.e. throw myself around interstate entrance ramps), because I did not get it completely finished mounting last night (only enough to drive home from my shop). I am going to take a picture later today to show the vast difference between this one and the stock one, then another when I'm completely done.

I doubt they are fia approved.

If you get in a wreck, those seats will snap.

what do you mean theyre not released yet? theres a rice shop out here in Ontario, CA sellin those models.. and those are on display and theyre actually sellin those for $1000/pair complete and installed (yes they got the dumbest prices oh well)

anyway, the guys on that shop let me sat on those and theyre pretty comfortable.. and they look nice. However, Im not too sure about their safety rating so Ill have to decline

and for that kind of price (I know its cheaper somewhere else) Ill probably go with Sparco, Momo, Corbeau, or Recaro... not because of the name but for its proven purpose

What I mean by not being released is that R1 is not actually offering this color yet. To the best of my knowledge, my shop was the first to get them. (If I'm wrong, don't flame please.) My only complaint with these seats is that even though they had "universal" sliders, I had to do it almost completely custom using the stock sliders. Thankfully, I was able to utilize an idea from another H-T member who did a similar install. So after about a day of work they are both in, and are more comfortable, and hold me a lot better than the stock ones.

About the price, my shop sells these for $438.90 including Virginia sales tax. Installation cost is determined by the vehicle and how much of our work has to be custom.
