Ok I'm cinsidering a new brake setup on my EE9.
I think I've found a suitable kit to do just the job.

i believe you need atleast a 15 inch wheel with those.. plus, those brakes aren't the best for daily driving because there are no dust seals in the pistons.. they are made to be blead atleast once a week, if not daily..

 

If you have an EE9, you will need to look at kits for the integra because you already have the 10.3 inch rotors.

 

I called Wilwood about the kit a long time ago and they said it fits under <U>most</U> <U>16" wheels</U> . BLAH!

 

I had the fastbrakes 11" 4 piston setup on my eg and I sure as hell didn't bleed my brakes once a week or even once a month. Also, my brakes fit under 2000 SI wheels with 6mm spacers. I know that you can fit the brakes under other wheels with no spacers, just gotta find the right offset and spoke pattern. I know te-37s will have no problem clearing those calipers.

Serious, my Legend setup fits behind stock EG VTi rims and Wilwood calipers have a much flatter design than the rough Nissin's. So it should be no problem. You could always fit spacers to lower the offset (haha that coming from MY mouth!) I figure you are going with 280/282mm rotors then?

 

Hmmm it seems the kit for my car has 9.44" (240mm) OE Rotors, no big improvement that is. I'm gonna make some phonecalls to find out what else is possible.

I need them before the spring, since I'm going on a trackday at Zolder (Belgium).

OK just got word from Wilwood:

We only offer kits that have 12.19" rotors that utilize some 16" and most
17" wheels. The way we decide what kit will work for your year and make is
by measuring the outside diameter of your stock rotors. They will either be
240mm or 262mm. Here are the installation sheets for both kits, look at the
wheel diagrams to see if the kit will work in inside of your wheel.

Fastbrakes Installation

Some updates which i haven't added to that page:

The bleeder screws suck. The are very easy to strip/break. What I would do is, once you get them installed, before adding fluid, find a pipe plug and remove the 4 lower bleeder screws (the ones that face down). Plug the holes with the pipe plug.

what this does is, gives you 4 extra bleeder screws so when you strip or screw up your top 4, you can replace them for "free". Also, it eliminates the chance of the lower screws coming loose.

Well, that's a bit much. You should do it before every event and inbetween each track session (remember, they are "off road only").

I would recommend doing it when you do an oil change.

 

Great guide for application .

I've read the whole guide and am more determined to get the swap done.
I also gathered some information from a company cald "HI-SPEC" from the UK, thanks to a link send in by a friend of mine.

ppl with fastbrake kits. what wheels are you running? Offset?

 

2000civic si wheels with 6mm spacers. Just enough clearance with the rim and with the spokes. Like I said in my last post, I'm almost positive that te-37s will work without spacers. . .

 

i'm runnin' 15" slips w/ spacers from brian at fastbrakes... either 5 or 6mm. JUST enough room to clear the calipers!

Nah it was some biatch throwing her 2 cent Japanese minicar in front of mine at the very last moment, the whole front locked up and threw the car from left to right (bad alignment/ low pressure tires)

 

I have a Hi-Spec Brake set-up 290mm 4 pots I run 17" rims but theres a few ppl that have the same set up as me run 15" but theres only a few that fit!

I have to say they stop sooooooo well & I dont get any fade now even after a long fast drive down my fav back road at legal speeds of course ;-)

For the going price of legend/nsx calipers, you could get the fastbrakes wilwood kit, with calipers that weigh lessthan 3 lbs each, compared to 8 or 9 lbs that the acura ones weigh. Plus, pads for the wilwoods are half the price, plus the wilwoods are 4 piston, not 2. Only downside to fastbrakes kit is the rotors, as I'm not familiar with what OE app they originated from. . .

 

Wow! so someone else has had the privledge of riding/flying with Rex VT...... let's just say I was glad he had good brakes and a roll cage!

BTW I never got a speedingticket when I forgot to power up the radardetector from our ride from The Hague to Amsterdam Lucky me!
