Keep your cable trans and just add a quaife LSD.

if you are mechanically inclined (read, good with tools and fabrication) then you can make any B series Hydro tranny fit the type r engine in the EF.
I've done it three times.

Do a search, it's has been covered here quite a few times already.

JDM YS1 with LSD factory. you can get one for 500$ (or around that price) if you're real nice to some motor retailers like HMOTORSONLINE.com

Has anyone ever considered using a tilton clutch pedal assembley for this...they can be bought with the master cylinder an I would assume it would be much easier to do then to put in a stock hydro system.

quaife doesn't make an LSD for the JDM trannies.. different bearings, i believe.. trust me. i've been through that before.. you'll have to go Kaaz, or possibly cusco.

as far as the tranny goes, the J1 is great because it is most like a stock type R tranny, just a cable-spec! the only thing that's different, is 5th gear is higher, but final drive is lower..
