Default zdyne one wire conversion

Well guys im finally gettin my project car together and heres what i got so far,88 crx si...91 a6 block ,z6 head with the a6 distributor on it,so heres my question i was thinking about changing the car to obd1 and running the z6 ecu,but then i found out i would have to do lots of wiring changes and use the 92-95 injectorsand thats a pain in the butt.So i did a little research and found out that i could send zdyne my 88 si ecu and they could do a one wire conversion on it.Now if i do this they say i wont need a rpm activated switch or vtec controller to trigger the vtec. But will they also tune my ecu to vtec specs so im getting the right fuel curves for vtec?do any of you guys suggest doing this one wire conversion?its like 330 bucks do you guys think its worth it??TIA

ive got it in my ls/vtec crx, im running the b16 stock programming and the thing is amazing. i payed the extra money for vtec, and the boost options, you can switch on the vtec anywhere in the rpm range, and it was only a one wire conversion. also you can run any rev limit, im bouncing off at 8800rpm. im also switching vtec on at 5700. its an 89 crx ecu that was converted to their GOLD ecu program. clutch cut, vtec control, 2 bar map, boost control, its pretty cool.

I think that when most people talk about the Zdyne unit, they are talking about the "gold" version that costs a little less than a grand.

Another thing that you should know about the Zdyne is that it's an "OBD0" only unit.

All that said; the Gold version is fully progamable using a lap-top and the only draw-back in my mind is that there is no provision for data logging.

I'm planning on getting one!

Wes.

i am using the Zdyne 1 wire on my mini-me setup. im very happy with it.
i have the d16y8 program.
VTEC is set to activate at 4800 but i am using a spoon b16 VTEC controller to have it activate at 4600, it seems there was a little lag between 4600-4800, so that took care of it.

i think one good part about this ECU is that it holds it value pretty well and you will be able to resell it for a decent amount of money when you get to upgrade.
