Does anyone know what can be causing this? When the ignition is on and you open the passanger door, the car detects that the door is open. But when the ignition is off and you open the passanger door, the car does not detect that the door has opened. The driverside door is fine. I tried switching the switch but the same problem persists. Any suggestions in what to look for?

 

What do you mean by " car don't detect the open door" ? Does the ceiling light turns on when opening the passenger door with ignition off? If so everything is OK

 

No, the interior light does not turn on, but when I open the driverside door it turns on. Weird

 

Could be a ground wire problem on the passenger side door switch. I have a similar problem with the trunk light, if I play with the trunk latch handle a few times it finally makes contact and the light come on...the ground wire is at fault when I test it for continuaty

 

The ground for the door switch is the screw that holds it in place touching the body of the car, correct? How would I go about troubleshooting this and if so, correcting it?
