Default Any special kinda grease needed for rubber bushings??

Just wondering if anyone knows if just any regular petroleum grease is fine for applying to rubber bushings?? I'm installing a new shifter and i don't know if i have to put any special kind of grease when reassembling....anyone??

Silicone grease is what is normally used.

just about any parts store will have a spray on dressing for the bushings..but i use sylicone for polyurethaye
