I got HID's for Christmas but I have a question
YEAH ! I got HID's for Christmas but I have never seen this brand before ----- HID PRO (in a black and green blox--Xenon Light Beam HID PRO conversion kit)... My girlfriend bought it for me and she got the 10,000K Purple 9600 type... I think the gift is awesome !!! ... But I just want to know if its a quality brand and just wondering what kind of visability I'll have... I want the purple Audi look but some good visability also---better than stock is good enough... Can someone post some pics of it please if they have the kit... I was gonna return it for the Philips 6000k kit ... thanks
Kit comes with:
-2 Hella brand ballast (made in Germany)
-2 HID Xenon burner
-2 sets of connector/wire bracket and relay

Hook it up and see for yourself.
I am very curious as to what they actually look like.
Get some 4300k or 6000K bulbs if those 10,000 are fluroucscent colored!

I'm running a 9000k HID kit with hella ballasts. As long as youre using Hella or Philips, you should be okay. Ive heard there are other korean made balasts that arent reliable and often come with cheaper bulbs that dont last long. My friend has installed several kits in his shop and said the Hella Kit i had was a quality kit judging by the wiring and components.
My car is white and the violet tint really looks great. When im going out iwht my friends, they always notice the violet beams upon them as i pass them on the highway
I had good results with the Xenon white bulbs and wanted something a little different to justify the cost of the HIDs. The light is bright, distinguishable and isnt harsh against oncoming traffic. I imagine the 4000-5000 white HID's would be blinding as it looks white but so were my xenon bulbs. Hope you enjoy your xmas gift.

what u need to do is return it for the 4300k. it wont be rude, just returning for a BETTER kit.
all that purple pigment does is cut down on actual optics and seeing ability. 4300
. look at all the factory systems.

jeez, 10,000K is out of the range of human eyesight I think.
I can bet they're not much better than PIAA halogen bulbs, you definitely need to get 4300K bulbs.
And anybody that says 4300K is yellow, you are straight up WRONG.

I've been told when you put the 4300k up against the 5200k and 6000k that it makes the 4300k look yellow.
What about the 7000k from Hella (I've even heard they have 12000k)? They seem to be bright white with a little purple?
The way I understand it (From my research on HID's) is that 5200k is the brightest output that you'd have (3200 lumens). The 6000k is slightly less bright (@ 3000 lumens) and the 7000k is slightly less brighter then that (@ 2800 lumens).
Am I wrong in my research or what?
I have no clue how much light you are losing with a 10000k or 12000k kit but I assume it won;t be much beetter light out past the more expensive PiAA bulbs.

"A common misconception is that the higher the temperature rating, the better the kit must be. In reality, the opposite is true. A 4500K kit would give you the BEST light output. The higher range systems have blueish or purplish tints to them. These "colored" beams are less effective and don't shine as far, especially in rain or snow. "

truth is, its pure white light.. and if you're worried about color, and not beam effectiveness, maybe you should be in the market for PIAA bulbs instead of expensive HID.
thats 4300K.. does it look yellow?
I just got my Philips 4300k kit and its WHITE as fock! No yellow to be found, plus the lights dont attract attention from st00pid ricers and cops like the bling-bling 10000k.
the 12,000k kit is actually very blue...more blue than i would like, however it was the only kit that had high and low beam h4 bulb at the time.
Camera settings do play a huge role in the way the pics turned out, im still trying to find the optimal setting.
First pic looks extremely blue:

Second pic, different settings, appears whiter:

hey cantxx hows the acura cd deck?
Your cars looking good...never knew u had HIDs...and I like the gsr rims u got on now...
My 4300k kit is not yellow at all!...In fact, when I shine them against pure white snow banks here up north...there is even a hint of blue right at the center of each beam!...the reflection of HIDs is badass off of the snow!!!
