I strongly belive that they are different but I am not sure. If they are different, does the type 31 for the Si fit on a 97 sohc ex?

 

my friend ran the DOHC one on his SOHC....the mounting pionts were not the same...he had to get it custom welded.

 

an intercooler is a intercooler enough said.

 

well i dont know if i would make that statement...

 

read maximum boost by corky bell, he has some interesting things to say about intercoolers that would make you retract that statement.

i dont know if this helps any but, my friend had a 2000 ex and we put on the 2000 si type 31 intercooler. the mounting points were the same. the only problem was that the charge pipe that would normally come out of the turbo and make a u-turn into the 'cooler was too long. just had to cut it and down the road we went without ever blowing the connection.

 

I used the dohc on my sohc and had no problems at all. You will not use one pipe from the orignal kit and will as well switch around one pipe with the piping provided with the intercooler.

 

i dont give a ****. its not like it HAS to be compatable. Maybe youll have to get a better more stable intercooler the more air your putting through it which im sure isnt really what he intends on doing (seeing that a cheapy starion intercooler can flow 350whp approx.). I stated an intercooler is an intercooler it doesnt have to be designated to a specific engine

The greddy intercoolers are CAR specific. So the sohc mounting points may be different than the dohc mounting points.

 

the intercooler isnt car specific the kit is.

and i guarantee the mounting points if not the whole piping would be the same because 97 and 99-00 body styles are basically the same with a few aesthetic differences.
