Default shaving the antenna

the current antenna i have now is an aftermarket one; the previous owner bent the stock antenna and replaced it with an aftermarket one. the current one is about a foot tall, black, and really ugly and puts my car to shame . anyway,

1)how much would it cost to have it shaved and bondoed and painted over again w/o doing a full paintjob. plus would it look off color if they painted that area over again?

and if shaved,

2)is it possible to reroute the am/fm reception to the rear window like the new cars
have nowadays? how much would it cost?

thanks in advance~

most likely you'd have to get a new rear window, as the defroster line would be in the way.

shaving the antenna isn't the easiest job. the holes will have to be closed by welding, not bondo. you don't want bondo there. second, the whole quarter panel will have to re-painted, and chances are you're gonna have to paint the whole side to match the color. not cheap by any means. i suggest you do it if you're planning on getting a new painthob, otherwise leave it alone. from what you described, it sounds like you have an S2000 antenna and i don't see anything wrong with that.
oh, and if you do shave it, there is a kit you can buy to replace your antenna. you hook it up to radio and stick it to the windshield. it's almost unnoticeable if done right.

you dont have to weld that. we use kitty hair fiberglass.. (at least the stock antenna maybe i missed something)..
take a piece of fiberglass sheet and kitty hair the back of it. slap it on the hole (inside the car behind the jack. kitty hair it in place let it dry. now just get some more kitty hair and do th out side. sand it down real good. then get evercoat fiberglass filler.. fill in all the small pin holes and wet sand with 600 grit.. all done.
stronger than any of my front bumpers..

hmm...i looked around the internet for somehting that looks like mine, and i don't have the s2000 antenna~ it's some cheap rubber mast replacement and i'm not sure how to check if the antenna motor is stil in there or not. i removed the jack...but there's this metal sheet that's covering the area and i can't remove it.

can you explain more on where i can find this kit where i hook it up to the radio and stick it the windshield?
