has anyone done this? as opposed to buying a new antenna, rewiring it so it uses the rear defroster like the 5th gens do? was just wondering if anyone has done this and if it feasable or not.

 

uhh the 5th gen's dont' use the rear defroster. There are two seperate traces on the rear window of the 5th gen... the lower set is the defroster, the upper, and uneven-looking one is the antenna.

seems to me you would have to get the window glass with it inside, which might cost a bit of money just to change something as small as an antenna...

you could, if you disconnected the defroster lines. Or, i don't know how this would work out for you, you could take 2 peices of tape, lay them side by side with a small gap, and paint the gap in with that silver metalic paint or whatever.. when it dries it conducts electricity.. it's what you can use to fix a broken section out of a rear defroster. Might work....
