Default 90 honda civic putting a cluster w/ tach

hi. i just got a cluster...it looks like its for a 88-89 honda civic/crx...it has a slight difference when it fits since there is a gap on the top since the cluster is a bit smaller....when i hooked it up...its weird...when i turn the lights on...the engine lights shows up..if i dim the lights..it goes away but the illumination on the stereo and the a/c part. what should i do to make this cluster work? my friend said that i have to rewire the harnes.s..can anyone tell me or giv eme pics of what i should do ?? btw, how much is the bezzel to fit one of those to fit the 90-91 models..? can the cluster still be used on my car? HELP!

The 88-89 clusters swap into the 88-89. the 90-91 swap into the 90-91. you have to get a cluster that is from your years. i have one with a tach that fits 90-91s. if youre interested, PM me or talk to me on AIM - sitinonthejohnny
