Default Axles wont go in, help!!!

I'm finishing up my clutch install and the axles wont go all the way in. Both the new one and the old one go in until there is about an 1inch gap. I'm lost. All the teeth on the axles look fine, and they are the right spline.

Smack 'em in real hard to overcome the snap ring pressure.

you need 1 person to hld it very steady, and one person with a sludge hammer. make sure its going in straight though.

Are you talking trans side or hub side, trans side do the smack, hub side takes a lot more smacking then once you are sure they are correctly aligned with the splines and there is enough thread for you to start the hub nut you can usually just use the hub nut to pull it through. Grease the splines might also help a tad.

take em back.
i had the same problem.
they should go in pretty easy with a few smacks. if they dont take them back and try another set.

i made the fatal mistake of using someones advice on here to use a 2x4 and a sledge on the boot cup, RIP. dont do that.
CV's aint meant to hit with a sledge.

On the metal boot cup, that is what I did. I didnt use a sledge hammer but I found the boot cup as a nice area to get a square hit.
