i just got a eg with a 99 ls swap. how do i know that i have a ls tranny? im at 2500 going 60 mph is that helps any. also what is the redline on this motor b18b? is there any websites with this info?

 

look at the sticker on the trani,i beleive it shoul say s80 if it an ls

 

yes, there should be a sticker facing you on the tranny, near to where it bolts up to the motor, it looks kinda like a barcode off a cereal box. it should read a s80, cause i think after 94' they stopped with the y80 trannies. not hard to find. and they hit redline at 6800rpm..no thanks to non vtec

That sounds about right. I am 3500 @ 80.

i dont think gas mileage has ever mattered to me whether i run it hard or easy the gas mileage is always about the same.

 

my 2001 gsr tranny has an s80 on it ,so whats the deal how do i know what tranny it is ?i found several listings on s80 trannys how can you tell between them and is there much of a perfomance difference between the ls and gsr and type r ,all are listed as s80
