painting block and head....
I saw a pic on here yesterday of a guy who painted his block and his head black. Anyone know what kind of paint to use to do this? Any have the link to that pic? I would like to do this to my engine as well but I dont want to use anything that is going to burn off. Can I use the high temp. heat paint from my loacl parts store? How hot would a turbo'ed block and head get? Anyone know what I could use to paint my turbo manifold too? Thanks guys.
I painted my value cover half years ago,
the paint looks just as good as the first day i paint it.
I used HI-temp paint..(stripe..sand..primer..etc)
but they do scratch up easily when the engine is hot.

Yea, I have had my valve cover painted for quite some time now, I am just curious about the block and the head of the engine, what kind of paint to use on them, Thank you.
use sothing called Glass Bead paint. I got a can from my engine shop (free) and one can painted the whole block and tranny and i still have some left. They come in different colors but hard to find them i gues. I got the cast iron color. Its best for the tranny cuz it goes on super thin and would not overheat the tranny unlike engine paint. Let me see if i can find a pic for you.. Here you can see the block and tranny painted with this stuff. The head is not painted, just really clean.
