Default in need of help!

whats up guys, i need your input on this little argument that i am having with another onliner. he swears this car is his, and he claims it is a 98 civic EX. here it is-

now call me crazy, but isn't that a D16Y7? (take a look at the throttle body). and by process of elimination (it isn't an LX because it is a 2 door, and it isn't a CX because it is a coupe) i conclude that this car is a 96-00 civic DX. thank you for your help.

Well Robin, that appears to be a very a heavily modified civic, with a IS 300 conversion (how sexy) I am also agreeing.. Y7 under the hood, unless he is running a y8 with a y7 intake? (both have same bolt patterns) Got a closer pic of the engine bay?

what motor was in the canadian ex? or was there even a 98 ex in canada?

EDIT: check out the non-factory sunroof... if that was an american ex there would be no need for that yeah?

Hmmmm. Well seeing as though it looks like a lexus conversion, does the owner really need to go all out with the lexus L badge at the front?
