2001 civic....pictures of aftermarket stereo in dash?
Anyone know of any pictures i can see of CD stereos installed in the dash of a 2001 or later civic lx? I just want to see how they manage to install them with that angled right edge of the pocket. I know they have kits for it, but i just want to see what the final look is like.
Also while i'm here, can anyone recommend a set of speakers (all 4) for it which will make a considerable improvement over the stock units at $300 or less installed? And how about a CD stereo.......whats a good, easy to find, bang for the buck unit that doesn't lite up light freakin' down town Tokyo when you turn it on?
By the way, my sister has the same car and the speaker question is for MY car, the rest for hers............just so you know not to let the speaker question influence the CD question or visa versa.

I don't have a picture for you, but I can tell you what you need to make an aftermarket DIN size radio fit.
You need an installation kit. This will go in place of the fitting that is currently holing in the stock radio. The part number you need is the "HA1567". The price on it is $10.95. You will also need a wiring harness to hook it up (if you are installing it yourself). That part number is "HA08" and is $6.95.
To see these products go to our web site, http://www.audio-warehouse.com and then on the list of manufacturers, click "Scosche". There will be a box on the left hand side where you can enter a part number. Enter the above numbers in there it will give you more information.
We have many good choices for the radio. I personally recommend Pioneer and Alpine for ease of use, sound quality and relaible performance.
For the speakers I would highly recommend Infinity Kappas. There are (in my opinion and that of many customers I speak to) one of the best speakers you can buy for the money. I have them myself and they are awsome.
Here is a link to them:

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks. I see now how the installation kit works. A couple questions tho. Does the plastic frame match the stock plastic exactly for looks?
Also, are there any speakers other than the infinitys that will be $300 or less including installation? The infinitys are about twice as much because i need 4 speakers, not 2. Plus at that price, once you include installation it would be well over twice as much. I'm not looking for audiophile stuff. Just something that will be considerably better than the horrible stock units.
Thanks....

Hmmm..........i see now i was looking at the component speakers. There are others for less, but the kappas are still gonna be near twice as much after installation costs. What can i expect sound-wise compared to the stock speakers for $300 including installation for the set of 4? Also, i don't even know what the sizes i need are, tho i believe the fronts are 5.25, correct? How bout the rears?
