Car popped out of gear?
Ok, I was out driving tonight and caught a red light. When it turned green I let the clutch out a little slow then hit the gas hard for some "spirited" acceleration. I lost traction and wheel hopped pretty bad. As I was reving out through first, the tach suddenly jumped to the fuel cut and I noticed that the gear shift lever had popped out of gear and into neutral. Could it have been the wheel hop that popped it out of gear or was it something else?
Same exact thing happened a few times on my friends ITR tranny. He's using poly mount inserts and drag radials, but gets a little hop in first, and it pops out of first. Good thing he caught it, no rev limiter
So what do you think is the most likely culprit then, wheelhop? I forgot to mention, I have an Exedy PP with 6 spuck sprung hub disk if that would make a difference.

Ok I performed a little "experiment". I put my car in gear, brought rpm's up to like 2k(running a 6 puck), and launched while watching the shifter without holding it. I had a bit of wheelhop and the shifter wiggled around quite a bit as the car hopped, until I regained traction and took off. Is this normal? Could this have been why my car popped out of gear?

One possibility is your clutch could be worn out - its 6puck and they don't last as long, it also got springs - doesn't grab as well.
I thought 6 pucks lasted longer than an organic disk? ALso my clutch cant really be that worn since I've only had it for a couple months.
