I can take my car out of gear easily while its in gears 2-5 at certain rpms without using the clutch.....I was wondering if this is normal or is there something wrong with my car..Thanks

 

I can pull my car our of fifth gear right into neutral. I don't think nothing of it. I haven't tried it from 2nd though. I didn't even mean to pull it out it just sort of happened I guess.

 

i can take it out of gear in any gear as long as its at about 1k rpm or under. in fact, i always do this when coming to a red light.

 

thats good to know I'm not alone...It just happened while I was in 5th and then I tried it on the other gears and the same thing happened...

yes it's normal

 

I always thought you were able to pull out of ANY gear at any speed as a saftey feature. Just in case the clutch goes....

 

its called having good synchros

 

It's great to shift without the clutch...but its tricky in 2nd

shifting without the clutch is ok to do as long as you don't grind the gears, if you have good syncros. i like down shifting from 3rd to 2nd without the clutch. sometimes i go threw the gear when getting on the freeway without the clutch.
but i use the clutch when racing, feels safer

 

yes it is normal .. just dont do it, it's not advised

i had a MK1 golf years ago, and after about 150k could shift in and out of gears without clutching, it saved me a fortune on those pesky rubber pedal covers

 

So to shift out of gear without the clutch you just pull it out of gear real hard?
