Both ITR's ran the same time in the 1/4 mile race on Best Motoring trying to compare the 2 tranny's....However, when they took the cars to the track the 98 ITR was much better for the lower gear corners vs. the 96. Also, Honda has done a great job of making minor changes to the DC2 ITR's over the past couple of years like re-enforcements to bushings, parts, ex. So, this would lead me to believe that a new tranny would be better over a older style or model part. Just .02$
if you said 96spec ran the same 1/4mile time as 98spec , then 96spec actually not that much less powerful than the 98spec then right ( 15~20hp , isnt it ?? ) consider 98spec has ctr intake and 4-1 extractor
bottom line i still want a 98spec , someone wanna buy my 96spec ?
