Default Stock timing safe for 75 shot on 97 GSR?

I have my timing retarded to -9 degrees on my stock 97 GSR and running a 75 shot of NX. I heard I could bump it back to stock timing and run safely, Any comments?

im running on stock timing with a 75 shot it feels great. plugs are good and compression is great. when i get my 100 shot ill get this msd unit that lets me retard from the seat. so ill retard when i got my nitrous activated and then turn back to stock when im done

Well I bumped it up to -13 degrees and it pulls much harder now. Still debating on the stock timing though.

my best 1/8 was 9.5 @ 78mph. that was with a 2.4 60 ft time and a really cold *** bottle pressure with no heater. that was really low *** bottle pressure too. wait until i get bottle pressure around 1000 psi ill be trapping around 84 mph

With the 75 shot, are you still using a stock fuel pump? Cause I'm gonna be installing a nitrous kit in a couple days and I was wondering if 75 would still be safe for a stock fuel pump. Oh by the way its gonna be going in a 96 gsr sedan.
Thanks

yeah stock fuel pump on the 75 shot. this is also a directport setup. how is your nitrous going to be sprayed? on a single fogger kit 75 shot might be pushing it. as long as you check you plugs and do compression tests often it should really be no problema.

Its gonna be a dry nitrous kit. So you think 75 would be pushing it?

75 dry shot would be the limit. if you want to go more upgrade to a wet single fogger or dp set up. but 75 shot dry shouldnt be a problem. i know a couple people squezzing 75 dry shots on their integras.

Retard the timing otherwise you may be in for a not-so-pleasant surprise...

Safe? Nitrous in and of itself isn't safe. You're taking a risk no matter what, it's just a question as to the size of the risk. Just retard your timing, if for nothing else, the piece of mind knowing that you're not gonna blow your **** up.

if you know how to tune it then there is no risk

sh*t can happen though

that seems pretty slow for a gsr w/ a 75 shot. i ran a 9.564 at 74.14mph with a 2.277 60ft. on stock tires when i had my 96gsr with just bolt-ons.

i was only trapping 69 mph when i had my intake. could of been better if i had a decent 60ft time. the track down here suxs. fastest all motor integra i have seen here was a 9.8 with i/h/e/tb and stripped. rsx type s can barely run low 10s. also people on full slicks cant even get a 2.0 60 ft. civic si's mid to high 10s. maybe everyone down here suxs at driving oh yeah not to mention my friend's s2000 that only runs mid 9s with a 75 mph trap. everyone thinks its so fast lol

how do you launch your car? what i do is i hold my clutch right to the engagement point but not enough to where i move. so i hold it there, rev to about 4000-4600 and as soon as i lift my clutch leg boom .500ish rt but mad wheel hop! so much wheel hop it felt like my dash was going to fall apart! i couldnt even get a 2.3 60 ft if my life depended on it!

so how do you launch your car? im open to suggestions

yeah, sounds like the track does suck. it has to be pretty bad if people cant get 2.0 60ft. times on slicks. i know what u mean when it sounds like your dash is going to fall apart. i use to always get wheel hop with my gsr. when i put the b18c1 in my 5th gen coupe i used motor mount inserts. i still get bad wheel hop. any ideas on how minimize it??

An old trick was to chain-up the suspension to prevent wheel hop, oh well i dont want to get into primitive set ups
