Default Squeaky clutch... where do I spray the WD40? :)

Recently I've noticed my clutch is SQUEAKING. It operates perfectly, engages fine, the pedal itself just squeaks. It sounds like it's coming right from below the dash. My car is still under warranty, so taking it to the dealer is no problem, I'd just rather avoid the headaches if I can spray some WD40 or tighten a screw. Has anyone ever experienced squeaky clutch syndrome?

Mine started squeaking recently but operates fine also. I want to know where to lube also.

My CRX clutch was squeaky when I first got it, so I went buck-wild with the WD40 under the dash and it stopped... But that car was a piece of **** and I didn't care about coating the entire underside of the dash with WD'

I guess spray where it squeaks.
Probably somewhere around the pivot point.

Same problem here on my 2001 USDM ITR. Over the past couple of months the squeaking has gotten pretty bad. I spoke to the dealer and he told me to bring the car in to "lubricate the slave clutch cylinder mechanism". As far as I know, slave cylinders and master cylinders are not "lubricable" but I could be wrong. I plan to take the car in next week. I don't buy this story but I'll see what happens.

It sounds like a hinge squeak to me... *shrug* Glad to see this is kind of a common problem I guess

Spray on the moving parts on the clutch arm under the dash...I just soaked every moving part.

Also peel back the rubber boot over the slave cylinder, and grease that SOB up as much as you can as well. Doing these 2 tricks should stop the squeak.

What does the slave cylinder look like? Anyone have a pic or a helms scan? ...Or just a good description?

Edit: I'm half tempted to just take it to the dealership.. it's been a long time since I abused a loaner car. >:-] lol

Hmm... totally weird. Is the slave cylinder different on the ITR than on the LS or GS-R ?? My first Integra was an LS. I later traded it for a GS-R and never had problems with the slave cyl. I guess I'll have to check it and see.

It may sound like it is coming from the pedal but it could be the release bearing that requires lubing.

This was the case for my squeaky clutch.

Do you guy have anything leaking from the cylinder? Any black stuff running down the firewall?

Nope, nothing leaking down my firewall. This kind of leak would make me believe something's wrong with the main clutch cylinder and that can make a HUGE mess in the driver's footwell. I had this problem on my Mazda beater and I ended up replacing the car's carpeting (it got drenched in brake fluid which the cluth cylinder uses).

This is the stuff that I use. Valvoline Semi-synthetic Grease. Results are inconclusive b/c I also changed the clutch master just before damaging the engine and I also replaced the clutch slave when I rebuilt the motor...so I never got any appreciable seat time with a new clutch master. I'll have to try it on someone else's squeaky squeaky.

I also have he problem. I have looked under there and seen the spring that is connected to the clutch pedal. I think that just by lubricating this it will elimenate the squeak. I have not dont anything about it yet becuase it does not always do it. I think it has to do with the humidity here. (Florida)
