what RPM you launching at?
that sounds about right to launch with "OEM" tires. michelin right? those tires are pieces of ****. i wouldnt launch more than 3000+ with street tires. any higher and youll get major tire spin or wheel hop... with boost at least. if you just got basic boltons.. im sure its ok to launch around 3500+

I launch at 5000 RPM and then I feather it if it goes up to redline. this way when I catch traction the secondaries are already opened. Tried and true for me. Yes with Michelins.
No more Michelins for me though.
Wait, I still have them on the back two tires.
But those are getting old and I'm going to get Azenis's all the way around soon.

I got Azenis all the way around but I get major wheel hop... launching @ 4500.
Are you getting any wheel hop? I have some motor mount inserts that are just sitting here waiting for me to install... hopefully that'll clear up my hopping.
Hold revs at 5k
Pop clutch
Wheeeee!
Just do basically that, feather the clutch a little bit so you don't cook the tires and you'll be fine. Takes a little practice and then you'll be fine.

funny thing about the michelans is that they suck for racing, but are great for normal driving. my dad has the same tires on his 2000 chrysler sebring. put 52k miles on them and they still have tread. he's buying new ones soon.
You're right. One thing good about Michelins is the treadwear. But, they're just not sticky enough, nor compliant enough with the handling, IMHO.
i used to launch at <2.5k and spin out til theres no tomorow but lately my cars been feelin' a bit slugesh
so i launch a ~3k now...

I launch between 5500-5800. I have a Vtec light hooked up so I know when Im reving too high, better to keep your eyes on the track then your gauges. 5500 is perfect for me though, running on Nitto 450's. No wheel hop or bogging at all just peel out through most of fist til i catch traction, then Im gone. Ran a 15.4 all stock... except for springs and wheels.
