What's in store for the hatch? B18C5 turbo inside!
Just kidding... Here are a few quick pics of my friend's turbo-C5-powered GSR. Shots are kinda dark but you get the point:

so let me get this straight...
he buys a b18c5, drops it in his GSR, and then turbos it??
Now you say he has pistons, let me guess.. did he lower the compression?
all in all, i would have to say what an INTERESTING use to put a b18c5 to... and then i ask, what was wrong with his B18C1?

Good question. I don't have an answer for that one. GSR had alot of miles, but if you're gonna rebuild the motor anyway
I guess he just did it for the "5" on the block instead of the "1"
Bling factor?

def. for the bling factor, I wish I had money like that. I don't understand some ppl who get the c5 only to turbo charge it later on and end up replacing mostly all the internals. But hey, whatever floats their boat.

my thoughts exactly, but hey that red valve cover looks good sitting there, although he could of bought the red cover and just built the gsr block.
sorta kinda need to use a flash, but other than that, I think its a great waste of money and a waste of a good factory motor to drop it into a GSR and then boost it. much harder to get more power and it come with a greater risk than a GSR motor or an LS/VTEC.
Hey Brew this is Tommy...The pics are of my car...and to answer the majority of the questions that have arisen...I dropped the B18C5 in just to do it mostly...I bought the motor from a good friend of mine the hooked me up and the cost of the motor and the rebuild was cheeper to buy the Type-R motor and build it and sell the GS-R than just to build the GS-R, basically I bought the motor for less then I could sell a highly used GS-R motor for...I did not waste money, in fact I did it in an effort to save money, but it just helped to make things even better....

in reply to 1/4 times and power....at 10 lbs of boost I have about 270 ghp...the only one real good run my car has had at the track was a run in which I broke my exhaust in two and blew an oil line fitting on the back of the motor...on that pass it ran at 13.6 at about 100mph...that does not seem impressive but keep the following in mind...that run was at the 10 lbs lf boost setting which is not my max....12 at a little over 300 ghp is max....and I could only stay in it about half of the track before the exhaust broke and I pulled out some throttle....if all went well it should have been a 13.2 run quarter at my daily-driven setting....
i hope thats 13.2 on street tires. Tom (B18C5-EH2) ran a 13.3 with an ok launch in his all motor eg. I think he puting less then 190hp to the wheels, correct me if im wrong. When he got a good launch finally, he pulled a 1.8 60 footer, but broke his clutch fork. He would have ran a 12.9 i believe. This is with slicks and his car weighs less then 2100lbs i think.
edit: what im trying to say is that you have 100whp more than him. get your car on slicks and take it to the track!
