low gas light not working
maybe its not that it isnt working, but your just not running it low enough. for the first few months of my car i never saw the light go on and i just filled it up when it got right not the the line of E. but then it went on when it ran real low on the guage. so. . i dont know if its as easy as that or not. on the subject, does nayone know how far u cans tillget once the light is on.
I've drove for a while running on hopes and dreams in my car (gas light). I don't want to find out though how many miles it is exactly until you run out.
doode dont worry about the light...just learn to refill...it happend to me 2 times in one week
the first time it was on the 5 north passing figueroa and my gas light came on and the car died on the side of the freeway railing which was about a good 500-700ft drop...it was the scariest moment of my life watching big rigs pass me at 70 MPH [AAA plus ownz me!]...the second time my car died in front of my friends house and the gas light didnt even turn on this time!!!

I'm not at my car or near my Helms manual right now.. but I had a thread on the gas light and I posted what the manual said to check..
I THINK *not sure* you ground one of the wires by the fuel pump/under rear seats and the gas light comes on (that way you know if the physical light works) then there was some other test procedure on how to test the sender and the floater unit... I'll try to find my thread.. and post it up... my thread was posted while I was at home reading the manual...

Mine went out for awhile now and did everything the helms manual said, except for checking the ground. To check if the bulb works, you just have to unplug the harness from the fuel sending unit, use a jumper wire(can't recall which ones at the moment) and turn the ignition to the on position. The low fuel light should come on. Let me know what wrong with yours if you ever find out. Might be the same problem.

i wonder if I disconected something when I installed my walbro hi flow fuel pump a while ago when I had the jrsc ... I have switched back to the stock fuel pump now and its still the same
I suggest to do a fill up next time you suspect the light should come on.
Next, check how many gallons went in, subtract that amount from the full tank capacity (13.2 gal?)
i think, once the gas tank is down to 3 gallons, the light comes on.

Stupid question, but did you wait long enough and drive it all the way down to empty?
I'd only be concerned if my fuel guage wasn't working... that's more serious.
