How to ship a bumper?
Does anyone know how to ship a front bumper for a Gen3 Teg from CA to CO? The guy I want to buy it from says UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc say it's too big. But, I know people have shipped bumpers before and without paying insane shipping costs. Does anyone know how? Thanks
i just sold a front bumper here on HT. i bought the boxes at box city in pasadena, it was 10 for each, and you need two. also i shipped it with greyhound. it was 40 bucks. with insurance. go to their website and check the specification i think it can be over 60-70 in long. you can get a free quote also.
what about mailboxes etc?
Here's what ive done, wrap it up in a styrophome sheet, then bubble wrap in triplicate then finally a clear wrap, sorta like the kind you use for sandwiches. attach the shipping documenst to the bundle, voila.
I had to ship a poly urethane bumper so its flexy. If youre sending a plexiglass bumper, a box may be in order as they tend to crack under pressure and are less durable for shipping.

they have insane mark ups and they use UPS, Fed Ex, DHL, etc... so you might as well go straight to those... I guess thats why my friends mom drives an S500.. they own a place thats like Mail Boxes Etc...

Definetly go with Greyhound. I got my full body kit postage due, and it was front bumper, back bumper, and 2 side skirts packaged together. Altogether 3 pretty lengthy packages for about $60. I plan to get rid of the kit via Greyhound too.
