I just purchased an SI stereo off another member. I have a 98 dx hatch. Will the 99 SI stereo just plug and play or do I need to buy a wiring harness, etc. What do I need to do?

That radio should plug right into it because the harness of those years are the same.

You guys are all wrong. I just tried installing it thinking I got some good info but they have different connectors. The 96-98 have a 16 pin connector and the 99 have a 20 pin connector. I appreciate someone trying to help but I doubt you guys even have done this. I should have looked it up in my helm instead of asking. That is what I get for being lazy. What a waste of my time.

 

Anyone have the 20 pin connector from their old stereo that they are willing to sell? I am in need of one now.

 

Metra makes both sides of wire harnesses. Parts staring with 70- plug into factory harness, 71- are equivalent to stock plugs. Go to whatever stereo shop is close and get the correct 2 plugs and make an adapter.
