Here are your three best friends:

1. https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch
2. http://www.google.com
3. http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/lsvtec/lsvtec.php

This question has probably been asked a million times...LSVTEC is NOT a new concept, it has been around and covered throughly by many websites out there.

please refer to my car:
www23.brinkster.com/kgrillo/forLou.html

Now for the advice part:

I already have my LSblock/ITRhead, now I want reliable 12's (not expecting low 12's here, just anything that lets me say I run 12's in a 1.8L allmotor) on street tires, I figure higher compression pistons, cams, ported head, intake manifold, fuel rail, lightened flywheel, quaiffe atbd, will get me there....I just don't know what brands to get and where to get them.

dont bother with porting the head and getting another intake manifold(unless you dont have the ITR one with the head) the ITR head comes with factory port. the guys at b20\vtec.com uses stock ITR head(the last time i've checked) and their hitting 11's

i've seen guys with skunk stage 1's\CTR pistons\head work\blockwork and hitting 12.4's consistantly, but they we're running on slicks...... get some real sticky tires if you gonna plan on running street tire's

BTW they we're using stock type R tranny... that lets you know that most factory parts works....

my next setup will be all factory honda parts(except the head work).... good luck on your setup

B18A block
ITR oversized pistons

DEEZAM, thx for the lightning fast responses boys, this is great. might as well be on a messenger program.

on to my post..

yes, that is the ITR intake manifold on there already...the tires I have now are toyo proxes FZ4 (205-45-zr16) seem pretty sticky to me, there may be some stickier i'm sure. (i got 45 profile tires cuz the roads here are horrendously mind-bogglingly bad because of heavy industry and deisels roaming rampart all over the place crushing up the roads combined with salt in the winter)

my tranny is 99 si, I have been told numerous times that the quaiffe atb will make a big difference, could you respond on that please

about the "headwork/blockwork" could you please specify a little more...

here's a good one: is it beter to stick with my LSblock/ITRhead and get cams and pistons, or would it be better just to make one change, that being selling my b18b block for a b20 ? does the b20 swap mean a lot of other headaches as far as tidbits like gaskets and stupid junk like that or could it be an eye for eye?

depending on what i'd sell the b18b for, it'd be an interesting price difference? either way i can't do this stuff myself, it'd be paid labor out of my pocket to a speed-shop, so getting the block swapped probably carries a heftier fee?

as you can see i'm a trial user, my car is sweet but my knowledge isn't, it's getting there though...so please be patient and don't hate on me or think that i'm lying about my car

how did i get the car u ask? I bought it from some guy that was desperate for an engagement ring and he was also one of those guys that has to have a new car every 2 months...so i capitalized.

my goal re-iterated: 12's on street tires as cheap and reliable as possible with the starting point of a itrhead, itr intake mani, ls block, I/H/E, cam gears, 99 si tranny, short throw.

thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks
I know I ask a lot, but that gives you all a chance to show how much you know

head work meaning getting it ported and the whole nine yards... different shops offer different pacages...they were using 1st gen b16a (wich is the same as itr with out the port from factory) and they had it ported...

as far as block work , they had the crank knife edged, bore the cyliner walls(ls motor), shot peened the ls rods and lightened up everything that was connected to the rotating assymbly

for your block decission.... i think having a ls block will do just as much damage as the b20, but thats for me and its for a steet trim car...

my reason, for me i like to do things the right way the first time... if i had a b20 i would end up resleeving it and have custom pistons, that alone itself should cost at least $1400, thats just the bottom block...

i could take that 1400 and have my ls\vtec runniin in a heart beat!.. thats my 2 cent... all comments are welcomed

Inline four sux ***!!!!!!!!!!!
They took over a month to send me a tranny and overcharged me through shipping and the price was too high
They told me a week it would take and it took about a month in a half!!!!

Also yes the motor was built in the basement
But its at the shop now in the car just waiting on the exhaust to be done

Ok, in terms of money, hassle, and patience, I can stick with the LS block that is already doing me just fine.

as I suspected, the CRV thing is above and beyond me...

Now I need to know what brand-name of pistons, cams, and flywheel, I'm supposed to get.

Let's pretend I have $2k (american dollars) to spend, what would I do if I was smart?

remember I already have a stock ITR head, intake manifold and throttle body and the bottom is the LS and I want 12's on my 16" toyo proxes.
