I did search, and all of the problems are for when the car is running. I can't put my car in gear when the engine is off. I just did a swap, and it was fine, but now more than half the time, I can't put it 1st, 2nd, etc. Is the two legs where the shifter connects to the shift rod at a 90 degree angle? I checked mine and it looks more like 60 degrees. Anyone have a pic of the part where the shifter connects to the shift rod? Thanks!

 

adjust your clutch if you have cable....... thats prolly your problem

 

I have a hydro clutch, but still, shouldn't I be able to put my car in gear without pressing on the clutch (when the engine is off of course)? Could my tranny be messed up?

 

do you have fluid in the tranny , is your shift linkage hooked up correctly , is it the correct linkage?

 

if i read this correctly, youre having problems putting it in gear when the engine is OFF? i wouldnt worry about it unless it did that while the car was running. your shift linkage is probably off, i had the same prob with my crx.

 

So what was the remedy? Did you just buy a new shifter assembly? Thanks.
