A couple pics of my hybrid Honda
As you can tell , its an (ahem) work in progress but I figured I'd throw a couple pics up . It was a track ho for several years and I made a halfassed attempt to make it streetable last year but hope to actually be legal by this spring . Eh , I know it isn't a turbo Busa or anything cool like that , but its fun and different .

You're pretty close ! It's a stock RC31/NT650 which has a revised RS250 frame so it is very similar to an NSR250's . The motor currently has +1mm JE pistons , rewelded and reprofiled combustion chambers , epoxied and ported heads , too lumpy for normal street use 174X8 cams , Two Brothers Racing oversized valves , Kibblewhite springs , TBR ti retainers ... that all combine to make it a smidge more powerful than a piped SV 650 -lol . I destroyed my 700cc motor this summer and will be rebuilding it in a more street friendly tune sometime .
Its chassis is really its stong suit . Even for getting on in years , it handles great . The forks are from an F3 and revalved by Traxxion Dynamics to better suit the bikes weight and theres a Fox TC at the rear . I've done a bunch of stuff to chop off excess weight with the magnesium rims etc ( notice that it doesn't have a conventional subframe amonjg other things ) The upper is from an Aprilia RS125 and the seat is a TZ250 piece . It weighs about 35 lbs more than an NSR , RGV or what have you but makes more power and actually has torque so its easier to ride .
I like to compare it to a nicely tuned CRX or Civic . Sure you could go faster by spending less $ on something else but its light , extremely flickable , cheap and most importantly lots of fun

mmmmm... That is a very nice hybrid!
Its cool that it all fits in place really nicely.
Im planning on going hybrid on my NSR too, since lots/most of my nsr is in pieces.

for a cool bike...do I spy a Marchesini rear wheel?
My hybrid Honda bike ('96 VFR with 929/954 front end) isn't progressing much this year, but perhaps next year...I'm planning on gradually making it into my own rendition of an RC30. Trending Topics
Thanks for the compliments ! It is a Marchi rim , the front's one too but is obviously of the 5 spoker pattern . It was cheaper to mix n' match and symmetry is boring .
I quite like SV650's , they made the NT obsolete as a racebike ( given the same mods , an SV would be mental ! ) but I can't hold that against em as the're great machines

I had the can under the seat but I'd removed it and the Sbend down to the collector to experiment with different arrangements. I was just between experiments when I took the pics . The extra length and bends were causing a black hole in the midrange and were probably also losing ~2 negligible hp on top . I tried a very cool looking Buell style exhaust made by cutting down a TBR can to 12" . Looked great and didn't work that bad but was just WAYYY too loud to be acceptable . Ill probably go with a left exit exhaust that snakes over the swingarm - not the best for power or looks ,but a decent compromise .
damn. that look like its gonna be sweet when you finish it. props on buildin it man.
how much do you think u've spent total when its done?
let us know how it rides. good luck.
