Accord hesitates from a rolling start
I have been dealing with this problem since it was new (1999). My wife drives the car so I forget about it unless I am driving it. We tried to get it fixed 3 times under warranty- everytime it ran perfectly. If I do not come to a complete stop at a stop sign- ahh I mean yield sign, when I push on the accelerator, nothing happens and then it jerks and goes. I have actually had to change the way I push the pedal to minimize the jerking. I overheard a service tech saying it might be the gray logic, but of coarse it worked perfectly when he drove it. Any ideas?
I know exactly what it is. I just fixed this in my friends 99 Accord. You have a carbon buildup in your throttle body. You back out of a space, the car doesn't move, and then it does with a big jerk making you look like you can't drive (haha). Or your trying to pull out in traffic and the car doesn't go for a second and then jumps. Take off the intake tube from your throttle body. It will be all black in there. It causes the throttle to stick. Get a can of throttle body cleaner (not carb cleaner) and spray it all over in there. open up the throttle plate and spray inside. Use the whole can. Get a soft bristle toothbrush and lightly scrub around where the throttle plate contacts the T-B. You will see a black ring where it contacts. Clean all that crap out and your problem will be solved.
This is what we get from the emissions people. Recirculating exhaust gases back into the intake.

Clean air is good, though. I was just in Manila and you don't want their air.

does it throw any codes?
is the 6th gen accord drive by wire? on the 4th & 5th is a cable throttle, if the 6th gen is also i don't see how a tb plate could stick, wouldn't you feel it in the pedal?
Not many drive by wire cars out there.
Anyway, the throttle plate itself is controlled independantly of the throttle cable. Note you can rev the motor directly from the TB without the gas pedal moving.

Thanks for the advice. I am on vacation right now, but when I get home I will try it and post the results. The carbon must have built up quick because it seems like it has been doing it since almost new.
