Tranny went out today
as the title says my tranny went out today the transmission shop is saying it will cost me about 1700 to rebuild it. Do you know where i can get a decent priced tranny for 90 accord lx coupe? as much as i enjoy my car i'm not going to put 1700 in my car. If i have to I will part her out.
that kinda sucks, sorry bout your luck. i wouldnt work on it yourself. and even if you do pull it, some shops will still charge you a bench fee just to put it on the table to work on it. i got lucky and got labor for 250.00 and paid for parts.

mine went out like last week. and today my stupid dad decided he woud take it to the shop and get my AT rebuilt for $1000. i swear he's f*in nuts sometimes. i told him to tell the shop to do an MT conversion then. and they told my dad that they couldn't because it would involve changing too much. how i don't feel comfortable about my car being a place that says they think an AT to MT swap is too much. i can do it from home. i swear....ANYBODY can get license to be a mechanic these days. lincon tech students and all
i know would love to have a stick but my main objective is to get my wheels back asap.
just call around to find one for a cheap price, i am currently building mine (Level10)
and i got one just to throw back in there for $500. still sounds like a lot of money, but better than $4000 from the honda dealer. and then also ill have a spare.

Don't worry, in a few years you'll be able to do it if you really want to (at a reasonable price).

I still dont get the auto to manual swap thing the car has better reslae with the auto so I say sell it and buy one that is already manual but thats just me. Since when you find the 5 speed it should be cheaper bam instant mod money. I already have a couple of spare h23 trannys siting around in addiont to the jdm h22a that came with my swap. 5 speed owns I am happy to this day I held out till I found a coupe with a 5 speed.
