Just registered for VIR in February
The website http://www.nasaracing.net/trackday/index.shtml says online registration is not yet available...but... I went to their online registration area http://www.timingroom.com and I was able to register for the event. Basically, if anyone is interested it seems that you can register for VIR in February, now.
Is this event just a HPDE?
This is what the website says:
NASA-VA will be holding a High Performance Driving Event (HPDE) as well as SCCS, PARRC, ECHC, and American Iron racing events.
Are these "racing events" the Valentine's 300 mile/four hour enduro with these classes participating?
Thanks

Bbasso, you have to register for event and not just create a logon name..
The weekend seems to be an HPDE for two days and a race also.

I registered too David...... I have been waiting for this event since September, about 10 minutes after I drove out of the VIR pits.
My only concern is how will they have HPDE while there is a 4 hour enduro race going on at the same time?

Is this event just a HPDE?No. The 'event' will have the HPDE along with the various racing classes during the same weekend.
Thanks
I am thinking Watkins Glen in June with the NY Chapter of BMWCCA. I will just have to become a member in January.
I was hoping that Summit Point would be in August/September.
But looking at some of this past years calendars, i think the following schedule will work:
Feb = VIR with NASA Virginia
Apr = Beaver with ITR Expo
May = Watkings with NASA (NY Region)
June = Summit Point with NASA Virginia
Fall = Limerock with NASA (NY Region)

So will this HPDE have the SAME track time like a normal HPDE event?

Willard,
A lot of what is said there is valid about track time.
My take on things is that about four 15min - 20min sessions is the most I want a day. I still feel like I had fun and by the fourth session I am usually fatigue and feel lucky to still have my car in one piece.
This VIR schedule with the race will be fun. It is fun to watch racing. Yes, $300 may be steep for about 150 minutes of track time over two days. ($2/min), but I spend about $6/min autocrossing ($35/6 minutes) + having to work the course. So, track days are a bargain for me !

The last session of the weekend is 'my' time.
-my students are done
-the track has less cars on it
Fatigue does not effect my driving at all.... matter of fact the longer I drive the better I feel.

I am use to getting 3 ~30 min. sessions a day.
